Convert Everything FREE App Reviews

Ive tested over 20 Conversion Apps recently, and I found "Convert Everything FREE" to be mostly adequate, but not a standout - mostly because it is missing too many common units. MY PROS: * Accurate results in all 5 of my essential test conversions (area, distance, volume, weight, temp) * Has all 11 of the top 11 most common/essential categories, but no more * Has Currency conversions (Internet needed for updates, of course) * Has a nice Language Translator (needs Internet because it uses Google Translate API) --- Hint: when using the translator, try using phrases instead of just single words (ie, "Which street?") * Able to hide unwanted categories * Last updated five months ago, so perhaps the developer remains committed to the app * FREE! (There is an ad-free version available for $0.99) MY CONS: * Missing many common units (Volume: no cooking units; Weight: no stone; Area: no acre; etc.) * I couldnt find any way to input negative numbers, which is necessary for winter temps * User-interface is unconventional, and awkward even when you understand it * Fairly hard to select alternate units to see additional results (tap, scroll, tap) * Does not retain the most recent units used or numeric input entered for each category, even within a session * No ability to hide unwanted units (set favorites) * No ability to add additional categories or units (like myConvert and a2z Pro) In summary, this is a fairly nice app, but it would be nice to have more categories and units, and more control over them.

Ive found this app useful, but would really like to see cooking measurements like how many ml in a tablespoon, etc. Needed this to give my pet medicine.

Heres a perfect case of "should have left well enough alone". Earier version of this program had a very crisp, professional looking, easy to read interface. Since the last upgrade, the interface looks very tacky and immature (though Im sure the programs writer doesnt think so). Very bad choice of font... its not the easiest to read. The text on the scroll wheels is too small and its hard to tell which values your are actually choosing. The white on blue main screen has poor contrast and is difficult to read in certain lighting conditions.

The translation feature is now essentially unusable. Pretty poor way to treat an otherwise good app.

I too thoroughly enjoyed the older version that I had downloaded in the past ... particularly the language translator which is now totally useless since the annoying ads suddenly showed up (I guess they came with an "update") ... so Ive had to delete this app for now anyway. Too bad you cant opt to download the earlier version ... wish I had never hit the "update" button! I even looked to see if they offered an ad-free upgrade option for $0.99 like some of the smarter apps are doing but found nothing. Oh well, guess Ill just have to check back down the road apiece and see if anythings changed for the better. Bummer ...

GUI should be simpler for this app. Does the work well though.

Best app among the unit convertor apps.

I have tried over 10 different converters. This one is the best so far. I love the simplicity and the translation.

Not very useful as an engineer. Only a handful of pressure conversions for instance. Keep adding to it and maybe it will be useful enough to pay for.

Currency rates stoped updating saying server error!?! It was working fine until I migrated to iphone6.
